Analog Art Affair, Photo Walks, Community

This year, I stepped way out of my comfort zone and took part in various community events. In June I visited Optik Oldschool in Düsseldorf and got to know some people who are in the german analog community. It felt great to talk about gear and film, about ideas and all the stuff that was going around in my head up until this point in my journey.

For the reason this felt so great, I wanted to take it a step further and participated in my first analog photo walk in Bonn. Throughmyanalogeyes is a collective organised by Mehmet from foto.blicke. On my first walk I met so many nice new people who have been a great inspiration and have become friends over time. I came home after that first photo walk and felt so empowered. The photos from that day gained a lot of attention which was nice. I could exchange ideas and critique with other analog people and felt like I was really getting somewhere.

September rolled around and I visited the Analog Art Affair in Cologne. Here I met people I only knew from instagram. I met Kuba and Marsi from the Exposure Podcast, Daniela from candeeland, who is the nicest person ever, and many other people who are kind of a big deal in the analog scene. Next year I want to take part in the Analog Art Affair myself, tell people something about the Diana F+ and sell a photo book I design and bind myself. Hope it works out, but we’ll see. If it doesn’t I’m more than happy to come back as a visitor.
